About Ergonet

Ergonet was formed in July 2007 on the backbone of 8 years of software development (known as 'Aria') by founder director Sam Welbourne.

The impetus behind the development of this software was to address key, real-life business needs that were centered around the Creative Arts. A key benefit arising from web application centred IT is the maintaining of critical project and business data online thereby avoiding loss through hardware failure. A key client, Impact Artists (www.impactartists.com), suffered a break-in in 2008 and their computers were stolen, yet the business could continue to function as ARIA handled their artist database entirely online.

Shortly after Ergonet was formed, the working team grew to include Torbz and the focus changed to service the large number of small, independent local traders, businesses and projects who needed web services at an affordable price. At the same time, larger, more ambitious projects were taken on that demonstrated the power of ARIA's functionality.

ARIA is now in development to version 5, which will include an entirely new model of 'community networking' (as opposed to 'social networking') and membership-driven content. Furthermore a profund interface overhaul of the user interfaces is making the system far more user friendly.

In 2008 we developed a "pay monthly" scheme to make massively functional and future-proof web presences totally affordable to small businesses and individuals. From just £20 a month, our clients could dip their toes in the online pond and lower the immediate financial impact and commitment to their ideas and dreams.

Ergonet's turnover has grown year on year and is on track to continue to profitable success in its third year of trading - and this against a backdrop of 'depressing recession'. We beg to differ with this picture - and by working from a grass-roots level, we ensure a close connection to the online demands of our local community and our clients in the outside wide-world web.

We have a number of exciting projects currently under development, more of which will announced in the near-future.

We offer web development and a full range of associated services including hosting, graphic design, eCommerce, business consultancy, on and offline marketing, branding and more.

We also know that our website is somewhat lacking - mainly due to the fact that our own marketing strategy is behind schedule! Yes...we're only human too...and we're going to change it....very soon...promise.
